About Twentysomething

Patricia Vince is a 26 year old Bay Area transplant. Born and raised in a small Mid-Western town, Patricia was 21 when she escaped the pull of staying close to home and moved out West. It was in Arizona that she perused her dream of studying massage therapy. After receiving her associates degree in therapeutic massage and bodywork as well as a national certification, Patricia fell in love. It was her love that brought her to the Bay Area for the first time and and only a year after that first vacation did they make the move from the desert to Petaluma. Patricia still practices massage therapy with a chiropractor in Marin, is the doting mother to an amazing pup named Tom, and is now happily engaged and planing a wedding.

Book vs. Ebook

I like gadgets. I have an ipod and a fancy new cell phone that can do way more than a mobile telephone really needs to do. We have a television that’s screen is way bigger than is truly necessary, and what maybe construed as a fancy surround sound system. I did push for my fiance [...]

“Hey Guys”

We walk into our favorite P-town sandwich shop, we sit down for an overpriced breakfast in Novato, we step into a trendy burger restaurant in Corte Madera and what we hear in each place no matter the city or sophistication of the establishment is the "hey guys" greeting. Throughout our dining experience the "guys" theme [...]

I Love My Job

I do, I sincerely love my job. Don’t get me wrong I still have plenty of days when dragging myself out of bed to go to work, or getting on the 101 only to get stuck in traffic, is the last thing I want to do. Of course there are days when giving five hours [...]

Goldilocks of Petaluma

Moving is the pits! The cleaning and packing. The boxes and the tape. The bubble wrap and newspapers. I can honestly count how many times in my life I have moved from one home to another, and it’s eight. I am now packing a stressing in preparation for my ninth move. I’m not sure if [...]

There Is No Place Like Home

Home. As defined by the flawlessly precise Wikipedia is a place of residence or refuge, but can also be perceived to have no physical local - instead, home may relate to a mental or emotional state of refuge or comfort. Why am I compelled to look up the definition such a basic word? I’m grasping [...]

Daily Affirmation

I’m not a huge fan of the news. I realize there are plenty of arguments as to why one should watch the news, but I find that it is generally pretty depressing. It is for that reason that I’m a bit picky as to where I like to get my news and current events. I [...]

PETALUMA DUI CHECKPOINT

Prior to moving to lovely Petaluma, California I had not ever seen, nor experienced a DUI checkpoint. I suppose it wasn’t a strange concept to me, and at face value the idea of a DUI checkpoint doesn’t sound like such a bad idea. When has it ever, and how would it ever become a good [...]

IT’S A GENERATIONAL THING

A few years ago, while living in a different city and state, I had a girlfriend who was about 10 years older than me. We were both new to the city we were living in and were experiencing a bit of culture shock in our own ways. When we would share our stories over a [...]

I Am A 20-Something

As I approach my 27th year it hits me that I am a 20-something. I have been out from under my parents roof for sometime now and so this transition that I realize I have been in for a few years is not the same as figuring out how to manage my money, how to [...]
